What a natural beauty. Very little people are stylish most are trendy. Say no more you can see how stylish she was from miles away. Greta use to say you either have the look or not you can't buy it. Love this photo.

@styleforgrab Thank you Skyler. She was completely fantastic in every way!🌹She was a Ford model, but more important, she rescued hundreds of animals during her lifetime!💞 Wearing her gladiator sandals and 10 dollar thrift store finds all the while!☺️

Apr 07Reply

jimmycat
@lcousino3r oh yes she had a great straight nose and high cheekbones! I didn’t get her nose but always admired it!😊
Apr 07Reply

lcousino3r
@jimmycat I'd kill for a gorgeous nose! I'm Italian and use to dream about those cute little noses. Like Steve Martin in the movie Roxanne 😂 but my family would kill me if I had a nose job.👃
Apr 07Reply

jimmycat
@lcousino3r oh you have a Fab nose and you REALLY Sparkle!!✨✨✨ Yes I’d be disowned for a tattoo much less a nose job!!😂
Apr 07Reply

lcousino3r
@jimmycat aww thank you! Oooh tattoos 😂 I've never gotten one! I had girlfriends that decided to go get tattoos one night when we were 22ish, but I didn't go. The next day I saw them. One had a tequila worm playing a ukulele with a sombrero on her boob. I saw my friend a few years ago, and at 50.. The worm looks like a caterpillar 😂

@jimmycat Skyler knows we are trying to find you that perfect Chanel dress in black & white? @styleforgrab she’s good in that, more currently informed with stores too. I think, soon, 1st markdowns will start in all the designer stores?
May 25Reply

jimmycat
@ally_marc @styleforgrab Thank you so very much ladies! There was a black-and-white one here, which I was trying to buy but couldn’t get an answer from the seller about the length. I just ordered a PAROSH from far fetch. It’s very pretty in a blue color. I also ordered a black halo Jackie O in a rare color called maliblue! Nordie’s found it for me in California!
May 25Reply

jimmycat
@ally_marc @styleforgrab e. I have no idea if these dresses will work out, but light blue or pale gray is also an option! The event is quite formidable and I do need to be perfect so I’m glad I have a few weeks! 🤣Thank you so very much! You gals are the best!💕💕💕🙏🏼💜🥰

@jimmycat @styleforgrab Good morning, how are you? Your Dad’s memorial event is this weekend? What outfit are you wearing, where you able to find what you were looking for?
Jun 21Reply

jimmycat
@ally_marc @styleforgrab Good morning my friends, thank you so much for all your help with this very big event To honor my dad! People are flying in from all over today and I am trying to stay steady and keep my cool. You both introduced me to so many beautiful outfits, and in fact I have not quite yet decided what I will wear tomorrow!😬Your support and friendship has meant so much from a far and I can’t tell you how much I love you girls!💐💐💐💕💕💕
Jun 21Reply

jimmycat
@ally_marc @styleforgrab just a fashion update, the PAROSH from Italy is not going to work out because it had a little spot on it and the cleaners have destroyed it! Oh well! So now it is between two Victoria Beckham‘s that I have picked out, or the cutest little Antonio Melani dress from Dillards! Ha ha! I set up a challenge to see if I could do the outfit for under $100! So I have two $100 options, and then I have the two Victoria Beckham’s! Too funny!💕💕

@laureneagle1 Hi Lauren! I just had to write you a quick note that I read your thread under your Fendi three pocket bag and was very moved by that. Your generosity, the way you framed your ideas, and the breath of your thinking in talking to this Posher about Mothers was really powerful. Just wanted to share that with you.

@damiangray this is my mama. She went to Sarah Lawrence college, and after graduation she moved to New York and became a Ford model! She was on the cover of Mademoiselle, in 1948! I think she was probably a lot like your mama… way ahead of her time, fiercely independent, outspoken, and courageous. I would just kill to play chess with her one more time!
Nov 13Reply

damiangray
@jimmycat She's absolutely stunning!..It's clear how much you and I both admire our mothers. I talk to mine everyday..really miss our conversations & her insights..Especially around the day of the Derby. She always had a great recap of the race.
Nov 13Reply

jimmycat
@damiangray I wish I could have met her, Leslie. She sounds absolutely extraordinary, and sounds a lot like my mom! I wonder what year she was born? Mine was born in ‘ 26!
Nov 14Reply

jimmycat
@damiangray Gals of their generation were made from a very special fabric, that’s for sure! Was she a single mother? Mine was, raising me all by her self after I turned 10. She did not really have any job skills, so after my dad divorced her she went to work as a security guard at the Frito-Lay plant at night & delivered newspapers during the day. She was super well educated in the liberal arts…But no marketable skills.🙏🏼🤍
Nov 14Reply

damiangray
@jimmycat I loved your replies..yes she was a single mom,the youngest of 11 childern..we are 11 generations on the Cape. Hyannis..I went to 14 schools traveling with the racetrack..the eternal " new girl" .until she decided I was getting too grown up to be on the track at about age 10. She left home at 13,modeled in Boston ,shared lunch with the nice man who swept the train stations..
Nov 14Reply

damiangray
@jimmycat she came back to the Cape & married Val Tarbell who died when she was 6 mos.pregnant We has a summer house in Centerville She taught herself to train horses, then when we settled in NY taught herself to breed & show schnauzers.. & groomed dogs..A prosperous living, all cash. after that dhe put herself thru broadcasting school and had commentated a weekly TV show on Saturdays called " "Race of the Week from Bowie"
Nov 14Reply

damiangray
@jimmycat Afterwards she became a paddock judge at Roosevelt & Yonkers and when fired, won a case against the racing board for " ageism" taking on the racing board was unheard of but she did it & won. No matter what or where we lived she made sure I had all the things that the other girls had on top of ballet & riding lessons at Claremont in Central park. yes they were of the same stock..she was born in 31.
Nov 14Reply

damiangray
@jimmycat Amazing...Neither of our moms had marketable skills but did what they had to do and were gorgeous and brave while doing it. I love that I've met you. Funny, we both traveled simile paths, the horse circuit..You with the classic show circuit and me with the racetrack. One can't buy the kind of education, insight and self-discipline our mothers provided us with.
Nov 14Reply

damiangray
@jimmycat Oh! And thank you for all those shares! You're amazing!
Nov 14Reply

damiangray
@jimmycat My husband is so impressed that you attended RISD.. To be accepted you must have had high grades and tremendous talent..Bravo you!
Nov 14Reply

jimmycat
@damiangray Oh I love her life story, Leslie. Yes you’re right, they both did what they had to do, followed their passions, and were brave every step of the way. I love that I have met you, too, someone with a mom so very similar to mine—someone who carries on, and continues to be inspired every day by an unusual, totally remarkable woman who blazed her own path!🙏🏼✨ Did you lose her recently?
Nov 14Reply

jimmycat
@damiangray oh thank you! I loved every second at RISD! every single moment!! I had the most eccentric professors ever! I tell your husband, interestingly, no I did not have good grades!!😂 I think I just got lucky!! It was the most wonderful place in the world in 1986, and I had a boyfriend in Boston! The rest of my family lives in Gloucester!
Nov 14Reply

damiangray
@jimmycat Gloucester!..Mere towns away! 🤣 Yes, Art said if grades weren't always up to snuff, then talent subsidized at that school.
My mother passed away on Easter in 2016. And yours?
Each 4th of July I visit family on the Cape & look forward to my little ritual of sprinkling ashes off the dock of our Centerville house..Where we crabbed, clammed, prunedcrose bushes picked berries and rowed our little boat. The sun is always bright. the clouds puffy and the sky a cornfield blue.
Nov 14Reply

jimmycat
@damiangray That is a beautiful image, Leslie… The Centerville dock and the expensive sky.
You must miss her so very much— to lose her on Easter is just so powerful. We are so lucky to have them while we do, I only hope to be half the woman my mom was! She left us on December 20, ‘06. I always leave pink roses on the big rock where she would leave cat food out for the ravens! They gathered around and waited for her every morning.
Nov 14Reply

damiangray
@jimmycat That's an interesting connection she had with the ravens..I don't know much about them other than they're known to be highly intelligent and in some cultures very spritual.
She has beautiful coloring your mother....At quick glance she reminds me of Ines' de la Fressange...Lagerfeld's muse & the former face of Chanel & Vivier.
Nov 15Reply

jimmycat
@damiangray @damiangray Yes, Leslie, she did look a lot like Ines! Mama had a bit of a broader face with a high cheekbones & super strong chin! But they definitely share that look… Handsome beauty, vibrant, & unique. A different version of pretty that I have always admired! it’s been such a joy to visit with you, to meet your gorgeous talented Mama, Elizabeth, and to see your amazing closet!🧡✨
Nov 15Reply

jimmycat
@damiangray Our chat has allowed me to think about things I haven’t thought about in a while, and I deeply appreciate it!❣️🌹 Will visit often and talk to you soon, Leslie!
