MCM Danish Cat Corkscrew Bottle Opener Mid Century Teak Walnut Denmark Barware

RARE Mid Century Danish Cat Sculptural Bar Tool: Corkscrew and Bottle Opener, circa early 1960s. It would be enough for this clever MCM Danish Cat to sit on a shelf and look like the gorgeous carved walnut (or teak) sculpture that she is… but she is so much more! She is a multi-use bar tool: hiding a bottle opener under her head, and sitting on a corkscrew base. Features: + Carved Solid Teak (or Walnut) + Leather Ears + Whiskers + Whimsical Painted Eyes & Smile + Rope Tail (posable / adjustable) Made in Denmark. Photo #6 shows a closeup of the remaining bit of the paper label (which has since fallen off). Origin confirmed by the only other two examples of this rare cat I could find on line. SIZE: Measures approximately 9.5” from base to the tip of its ears. The head is 3” wide. About 2” deep at the base CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition with a few of the expected signs of age and wear: a couple extremely subtle dings in the wood, one tiny chip at base (see photo #5), and some bent whiskers.
