gracefulvicious @domerleeroth thank you for your question! I just reached out to RealReal Luxury Consignment as I can’t find the date code. I paid a pretty penny for this purse and would be very upset if it’s not authentic as that was guaranteed. Marking not for sale until the issue is resolved. I’m confused because it otherwise feels and looks legit… but there should indeed be a code. I didn’t think to check because I trusted the company’s authentication process and didn’t originally intend to resell.

gracefulvicious @domerleeroth I tried doing that but I still can’t find the code! I’m quite upset about this, and confused because all the hardware and stitching is immaculate. It doesn’t look or feel like a knockoff, so I’m over here scratching my head just waiting for the RealReal to get back to me.

gracefulvicious @domerleeroth I did some more research and it appears the purse is authentic, based off of hardware, the pattern, color scheme, etc. but the code is missing. I read that this happens with vintage LV. From a reputable source: “Authentic Louis Vuitton handbags with alcantara linings may have date codes that are very hard to read or have disappeared altogether. This is sometimes the case for older bags or if the bags have had their linings cleaned.”

gracefulvicious @domerleeroth that’s the first thing I googled, and it’s just too faded, assuming the purse is authentic, which I really do think it is as I researched and inspected every little detail. It might be worth mentioning that Poshmark authenticates luxury goods, so you’d have that reassurance, too.

gracefulvicious @domerleeroth RealReal customer service got back to me and reassured me of its authenticity. As I learned during my research, the particular lining of this purse is known to fade the code. I’ll post a video of the item, too - hope this helps!
