This is an ICONIC AND EXTREMELY RARE printed silk skirt with Crinoline, from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2001 collection, created in collaboration with Stephen Sprouse.
Condition: New with Runway Tags
Size: 34 FR
Dimensions:
• Waist: 60–62 cm (about 23.5–24.5 in)
• Hips: 86–88 cm (about 33.5–34.5 in)
• Skirt length (mid-calf) around 70–75 cm (27–29 in) from waistband to hem.
Materials:
• Outer layer: sheer silk organza printed with Stephen Sprouse’s hand-painted rose motif (digitally transferred from his original artwork).
• Base layer / lining: fine silk satin or crepe, depending on the production batch. Some runway samples had a slightly heavier crepe to give the skirt more opacity.
• Structure: light crinoline tulle or a nylon mesh between layers to give it volume without stiffness. The aim was that airy “petal float” when walking.
• Waistband: silk satin, often with a hidden side zipper and internal grosgrain band for reinforcement.
