susanowen169 On another note, not all LV bags have date codes, some now have chips and the pre 1980’s bags have no codes at all. In fact, many of the older bags also have Eclair pullers on their zippers. So before you write off a LV bag as fake, best to do your research.

lori658693 @susanowen169 would another bag have the same authentication code in it? and if you find one and put it in the LV authentication app, if it gives production info can you trust that it's a real bag?

susanowen169 @lori658693 the reporter bags are vintage, and they don’t smell like leather due to the lining that was used back then. They almost get a crayon smell, some stronger than others. The code on mine is on the inside rim of the outside pocket, in the corner. They are sometimes very hard to find.

susanowen169 @lori658693 the bags would not necessarily have the same codes, codes are determiners of where they are made, like Spain, France or even US, and the numbers determine the date, month and year. But the two letters should be consistent with the heat stamp. So if For instance MI is a designated Spain factory, the heat stamp should say Made in Spain. LV has many factories around the world.

susanowen169 @missmelissal yes, the zipper definitely works. I buy at auction and it came to me with a tear on the material part of the zipper. A strong glue patch was put on it to keep the material from further tearing. Let me know if you still want to buy and Ill except your offer.
