This Louis Vuitton Monogram Porte Ministre Case is an extremely rare vintage find, especially in this condition. This Document Case was produced in the mid-1970’s and is crafted in the iconic monogram canvas and leather. The exterior strap closure color has been touched up, as well as all of the black edging. The zipper is smooth and fully functional. This bag was made in France and measures 14.75” x 11.5” x 1.25” in size. Despite its age, nearly 50 years old, it’s in remarkable condition. There’s no damage to the canvas, scratches, rips, odors, etc. The only defect is the interior zipper pocket, the top layer has been removed and it is discolored, but is NOT sticky. It is still a fully functional pocket and has been thoroughly cleaned. Dust bag is included.
*Please note, this bag does not have a date code, as it was produced prior to LV’s implementation of date codes (1980-1982), however it does have the heat stamp, which was the measure of authenticity prior to the use of date codes. Also, LV didn’t produce/use their own zippers until the mid-1980’s, until then zippers were produced by 3rd party suppliers - - Eclair, Talon, Robin, and Coats & Clark.
💼 This Porte Ministre Case has been authenticated on Ⓜ️, but Posh will also authenticate it after purchase, please feel free to ask any questions!

Hello Teresarea.., I'm interested, but need to know; closing tab was painted over in a flexible material so as not to cracks with use? And inside material peeling, is it flaking off ? or just peeling in some areas as shown. Thanks Ed

@elandesign17 Hi Ed! I have a certificate in luxury handbag restoration, so any/all products that I use are from HBS where I was certified and are meant specifically for leather, so it won’t chip, harden, or affect/change the look or performance of the leather. The interior pocket was peeling prior, but cleaned w a solution that stopped the peeling and made the material smooth. Hard to explain, but I’ll try to upload a video, so u can see that when I run my hand over it, it’s smooth and flat…

@elandesign17 Hi again 👋🏼 Just added a video where I pulled the pocket inside out and scrunched it so u can see that it’s actually a soft fabric and there’s no continued peeling or chipping. It’s fully functional, just doesn’t look very cute cause it was peeling prior. But it’s still strong and secure, so it won’t start peeling or chipping again. I hope that helps!

@elandesign17 Sorry for all the messages, but also wanted to say…the closing tab was sanded prior to painting, which ensures the dye/paint gets deeper into the leather, then covered w a top coat and then finally a leather sealant and protectant…so it’s very well protected and has many more years of use left in it. Let me know if u have any other questions, have a great weekend!
