Authentic Louis Vuitton: Louis Vuitton started using date codes in the early 1980s. Items made before 1987 will not have a date code. LV had not started to produce their own hardware so the zipper is a Talon which is correct (see below*). Hardware was made from solid brass, not plated, and lacked the distinct LV logo engraving seen on later bags. Expect to see oxidation and a natural patina, which are normal signs of age and wear on solid brass. Authentic hardware will feature rounded rivets. *Talon zippers were used on authentic, vintage Louis Vuitton handbags, particularly those manufactured in the United States by The French Company between the 1970s and early 1990s. These bags, such as certain models of the Speedy would feature the Talon logo on the back of the zipper. LV only began using its own branded hardware in 1991, so seeing a "Talon" zipper is a sign that the bag is likely a vintage piece from The French Company's production. •This bag was made before 1987. As a result there is no factory date code. •Canvas & piping are in great condition. •Handles show little to no signs of wear. •Inside is clean with no marks or tears. •Bottom is in excellent condition and barely any signs of wear on corners.
