violamarlene This Theda bag was on the runway in the fall winter of 2004.When I bought my bag the date code was located on the interior of the satin pocket.It is stamped into the Ostrich leather that surrounds the satin pocket. I asked at Louis Vuitton some years later what that was all about and was told this “From 1990 to 2006, date codes contained two letters followed by four numbers. The letters indicated the location of the factory where the bag was made and the numbers indicated the month and year.”
