I added a non branded lobster clasp to one end of the strap to avoid the leather from splitting and to be able to remove it on and off quickly! I added a clear sticker protector to the hardware but it can be removed, I believe there is one thin scratch underneath. The bag has zero odors, zero cracks, and zero rusting of the hardware!
