A large portion of the patches are Girl Scouts-related (cookie sales, camps, awards, service, etc.), but there may be some from other organizations or activities. Some patches still have intact iron-on adhesive backs, while others were removed from a sash or uniform. Pins include both loose pieces and a few on original backing cards.
