Large 1950's Samsonite Vintage Leather Luggage Hard Shell Brown Bakelite Handle

Model 4951: Approx 21 L x 12" W x 6" D. Weight: Approx 8 lbs. Suitcase is in good vintage condition, showing signs of use consistent with their age.  Vintage suitcases are exemplary pieces of mid-century design and durability. Founded in 1910 by Jesse Shwayder, the Shwayder Trunk Manufacturing Company introduced the Samsonite brand in 1941 By the 1950s, Samsonite had become synonymous with quality luggage.  There are no musty or offensive smells inside. No keys. There are minor scuffs and scratches on the exterior.  Sturdy hard shell construction with a distinctive red-brown finish. One small clear stain on the inside edge - see photo. Original brass hardware and locks (keys not included). Interior lined with vintage fabric, featuring tie-down straps and compartments. Classic mid-century aesthetic
