Large 1850s Antique Convex Glass Hand Painted Brooch

Antique Victorian Circa 1850s Convex Glass Hand Painted Gilted Brooch. I believe that the painting was hand painted onto paper and secured onto the back of the very thin convex glass and then a look of clouds was painted onto the back. Since this is around 170+ years old, the thin convex glass has a hairline crack, that does not detract from the beauty and historical heirloom quality of this piece. I have taken off $100, nevertheless. As shown above in pics, it has the old tube with C clasp of the 1850s, along with the pin extension of 1/4" past the C clasp. The frame is Gilted metal, probably 800 Silver. This treasure measures a Large 3 & 3/8" x 2 & 3/4". Very Nice Rare Find ! Item K27.
