Condition:
This copy is in good condition. The binding is tight - no loose pages. Pages are crisp and clean with no tears, markings, highlighting or stains. The only reason it is not rated as very good is staining on cover - possibly from improper storage. There is no mold, mildew or odor. There may be a slight lean to the spine - also due to storage - see pictures for details.
The original gift card from Gaylord Donnelley is included with the book. This is a unique and special copy of a classic book that would be a valuable addition to any library.
About the Book:
This book is a first-hand account of life on the Illinois prairie in the early 1800s by John Woods, a Scottish immigrant. Woods's account provides a vivid and detailed description of the prairie landscape, the Native American tribes who lived there, and the challenges and opportunities of pioneer life.
The book also includes a map of the English Prairie, as well as photographs of the prairie landscape and the people who lived there.
