🐟Lake Michigan Rare Fossil Crinoid Star Adjustable Ring🐟
I handmade this from an ‘Indian Bead’ I collected myself on the shores of Lake Michigan. Native Americans used to string them together for jewelry. Some of them have holes in the middle (like Cheerios), but not all of them this one if you look close is super rare because it is a star shape in the middle! This specimen is also rare because of its size, it has a half inch diameter!!
Crinoid fossils, also known as "sea lilies", are the remains of ancient marine animals that resemble flowers with stems. They first appeared in the fossil record around 490 Million years ago and were abundant in shallow tropical seas during the Paleozoic Era. Crinoids are related to starfish and sea urchins, and share their five-part radial symmetry.
The ring is more of a costume jewelry ring, as it is adjustable.
✨ I will send the crinoid fossil. It is resting on if you are interested!
