fancytruffle @1924homestead possibly? But it’s pretty small. I used it for my cartilage at the top of my ear first piercing.

1924homestead @fancytruffle possibly what? What number gauge size is it? My upper helix are both 16g. Thanks.

fancytruffle @1924homestead possibly it’s a gauge? I’m not sure. Don’t know how to tell what size it is.

1924homestead @fancytruffle gauge is the number assigned to the thickness of the post/bar portion. Every piercing hole has a size. That size is a number, or gauge. A regular earlobe hole is usually a 20 gauge. A nostril a 20 or 18. Septum 16 or 14. Fashion piercing jewelry like Maria Tash like to be quirky and do 19, though she does also make larger (lower number) sizes. Putting a much smaller size in will shrink a piercing or cut it like wire. Size is important. ;)

1924homestead @fancytruffle PS: you’re likely thinking of plugs, sometimes colloquially called “gauges,” referring to the progressively larger size (and progressively lower corresponding number) of the plugs. Gauge=size. I’m asking you for the size. Also, you should include the length in mm of the post/bar. Hope that helps. Thanks.

fancytruffle @balmoralgalpal not sure what threaded means?
Feb 03Reply
balmoralgalpal
balmoralgalpal @fancytruffle threaded refers to the "threads" on a screw, the ridges that make it stay in place :) so if it's threaded, it's a screw, and if it isn't, it's a push in or threadless!
