This was the band's first record with new drummer Artimus Pyle. As the title suggests, this album is an effort by the band to get back to their down-home, heavy blues-rock foundation. It was the bands' first to reach the Top-10, peaking at #9 on the US Billboard 200 Albums chart. The album is best known for its only single, 'Saturday Night Special,' a song about the dangers of mixing firearms with alcohol and impulsive behavior. The song peaked at #27 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. 'Nuthin' Fancy' was ultimately certified Platinum in the US.
