treasuredsoul @tomasales is the longer strap broken? It appears from the pics that the brass clips have been broken off from the straps.

tomasales @treasuredsoul hi there! I’ll try to explain;-)..The long strap has a brass loop with the hole. The brass clip has a tip that fits in that hole. But since that connection isn’t strong enough when the bag is filled, the last photo shows that the two brass parts can be just clipped. That connection is secure and strong. The brass clip from photo # 3 is also detachable from the bag. I hope this makes sense!;-)
