We sell our beautiful items at an average of 67% discount. We are grateful to Posh for hosting us, follow Posh rules, plus give them a large percentage on each item we sell. Then there is handling (driving 15 miles one way to a post office) and shipping plus materials. We would love to be in a position to give all of our items away but sadly...we are not. If the offer is 50% or less than asking price I don't even counter. I'm at the point where I consider listing the people who lowball. Here. There is one posher who offered me $8 for a $38 Anthropologie Rah scarf. (See above) and told me that this tactic works. :(.

barbiemartha haha! you should. I seriously consider going to their page and finding their most expensive item and offering $3 but I've yet to do that. Apparently it must work some of the time because it keeps happening. Oh well I guess it's all part of the game and I've tried to taper my excitement when I get the notification that I have an offer. It doesn't help that posh puts a "yay!" in the email because sometimes I'm like "not yay. Not yay at all!"

momoretro I feel your collective pain Posh sisters....@barbiemartha ....hopefully enough sellers will complain that modifications are needed to the offer button. someone suggested to me that in the last 6+ months there has been a huge influx of new users to the site (especially with Threadflip closing) so there is a sense of a "buyers'" market.

momoretro sorry I ranted for too many words: The interchange about the scarf above was particularly galling to me because the buyer basically implied the scarf was not even worth the asking price based on similar postings. It's not her place to do that. And anyone who knows Anthro accessories (many are handmade in limited quantities) knows that it is. It's ignorant. The offer button should be customizable.

majortom69 I haven't sold on Poshmark yet but I have so much to sell due to weight loss and my daughter out of 0 and into size 3. I have only seen a few sellers who have their items priced ridiculously high but I can't imagine offering a price as low as I've seen. The items I've purchased for the most part have been fantastic with great sellers! Others who have misrepresented items have lost a buyer!

sbgsbg @momoretro it is such a study on economics!! I've now learned that my items will never ever be purchased outright so I usually add $5 on to the item (assuming it's an expensive one) so that I can at least counter offer $5 less and then stick to that. Usually people reject it anyway. Anything under $20 I tend to make price firm. I hate doing it and I hate people trying to negotiate already thoughtful and reasonable prices!! End rant.

jenschonert May I join in on this? This Summer's been so slow and I've seen so many prices drop. Being fairly new to posh, I began dropped prices as well. My items are ridiculously cheap and I'm stuck in the negative. And I keep getting low-ball offers on absurdly discounted items. $40 on a $100 bag I'd just reduced! I'm always so careful when making offers – if I want it bad enough, I save up & pay full price. I should just raise my prices back up! Okay, rant over 😊 You're my hero for posting this! 💕

How about when someone low balls you on an item that's already 70% off, but then you go to her closet and see that she has a collection (20+ pieces) of TIFFANY jewelry and is still buying more to add to it. If you can afford Tiffany jewelry and just bought another from a fellow posher (I read a love note she left), then please don't offer me $5 on a $12 dress.

I also had someone buy a pair of shoes from me after wearing me down about the price (now I flat out reject the crap offers), used my photos from Posh and sold the shoes on eBay for twice what she paid here. There are some real pros out there!!! Everyone wants a bargain and a buck but cmon! Be fair to your fellow Poshers. ❤️😘🌸⭐️

noricoleman Thank you so much for this. This happened to me on bundle and I thought it was one item but it was two and I accidentally hit accept offer. It was so low ball on brand new items with tags. I cancelled it within seconds but now my items are marked sold even though it was cancelled. Any advice. I'm still a bit miffed.
