LOVELY 1950's BLACK FELT HAT WITH MULTICOLORED FEATHER "BIRD"

This is a beautiful and elegant hat from the fashionable fifties! The felt is made into a round shape with a flat top and a wide felt band around it. At one side there is a feather "bird" made by a beaded "body" and parrot feathers plus a long black feather as the tail that projects toward the front. There is a shiny black band around the hat at the bottom, which ends in a small bow. Gorgeous! There is an elastic band attached to the inside to keep the hat in place. Throughout the 1950s, ladies wore hats daily as a part of their attire as was a pair of gloves. To preserve its market, the millinery industry set about creating variety and extravagance.
