Hi modawnie21. Paper thickness is recorded in lbs. It's no indication of how much the paper actually weighs. The higher the paper lb, the thicker the paper. 24 lb paper is a thick paper that is used in high quality stationery products. The actual weight of this notebook is only 1.5 lbs.
