Lance Henriksen was born in Manhattan in 1940 and survived a rough childhood and left home at age 12. Foster homes and reform school left him unable to read and write until he was in his 30’s. Working on ships as a young man led him to Europe where his talent for painting and set design got him into performing on stage.
His film career began in the early 70’s with small parts in films like “Network”, “Close Encounters of the Third Kind”, “The Right Stuff”, and “The Terminator”. His big break came in 1986 when his director from “The Terminator”, James Cameron, cast him as Bishop, an ‘artificial person’ in the hit movie “Aliens”. Henriksen got his own television show in 1996 created by Chris Carter, the creator of “The X-Files”. “Millennium” only lasted 3 seasons, but is considered a classic of its kind. Even in his mid-80s, Henriksen continues to add to his huge resume in film, television and voice-over work.
