LALIQUE Cherub Stars Crescent Moon Christmas Ornament 1998 + Original Box!

Authentic Christmas ornament by the famous French glassmaker René Lalique. This crystal ornament was made in 1998 and features a precious little chubby cherub frolicking among the stars on a crescent moon. The crystal is beautiful and of a solid weight. It is signed (engraved) Lalique France and dated, Christmas 1998. It comes in the original Lalique Paris box with foam lining. The ornament is in excellent condition but does not include the original Lalique hanging ribbon. The ornament measures approximately 3“ x 3“ at the widest. An absolutely lovely Lalique collectible. Lalique is a French luxury glassmaker, founded by glassmaker and jeweller René Lalique in 1888. Lalique produced glass art, including perfume bottles, vases, and hood ornaments during the early twentieth century. Following the death of René, Lalique transitioned to producing lead glass (crystal) works during the 1950s while under the direction of René's son, Marc Lalique. Rene Lalique exhibited at the Paris exhibition in 1925 and won many awards for his beautiful work in glass and Art Nouveau jewelry during the Belle Époque era. His studio has carried on making incredible art, perfume bottles and glass.
