The dress is utterly fabulous! A bright mod print is done in shades of corals and tangerines with pops of purple on this stunning silk jersey maxi dress. The La Mendola label is highly collectible and sought after - when the duo behind the label where designing in Rome it was girls like Elizabeth Taylor and Rita Hayworth that were buying! The Italian shop closed in 1974 so this would date prior to that. The actual dress is supermodel length and fitted with a long and lean silhouette. Added to this is a silk chiffon overlay made of yards and yards of a custom screened matching fabric. It is cut almost apron like with an opening down each side and it just ties. This allows you to wear it a variety of ways - as a skirted top layer or you can get clever and use it as a top tier or a cape!
