L. LaTimer Signed Iridescent Art Glass Bowl – Blue Gold Dichroic Crackle Modern This is a dramatic Fused Glass Bowl by renowned artisan, Lynn Latimer, who studied with glass legend Dale Chihuly. In this piece, iridescent golds and blues are fused around a translucent blue square through which light passes to contrast to the matte gold and blues surrounding it. Latimer's fused glass panels are created using multiple layers of colored glass. Layering is used to build both a rich and subtle palette of color, where the pieces cross over and under one another, and an intricate rhythm of line and pattern. The pieces are interwoven and positioned into a complex three-dimensional puzzle, very crisp and architectural in appearance and then fused, cold-worked.Lynn Latimer graduated from Rhode Island School of Design in 1975 with a BFA in Painting. The artist began working with glass at RISD as an independent study, exploring stained glass under the guidance of Dale Chihuly. Chris VanAllsberg, introduced Lynn to sandblasting glass, which continues to be an important element.Lynn started Latimer Glass Studio in 1976 and has been working in glass for thirty two years. She has won a great many awards and is highly recognized as a premier glass artisan.
