This is a great vintage sewing machine from Kenmore. It was actually made by Janome. It is model number 385.1154180. This is a mostly metal machine and is a real workhorse. it has a stitch with dial and a stitch length dial as well as a reverse. It is a straight stitch and zigzag machine. This machine is very easy to operate and easy to thread. It has a rotary bobbin system and uses a size 15 standard bobbin. The machine has a built-in bobbin winder, which is metal, not plastic like so many of the machines today. It also has dual thread spools for two needle sewing using a twin needle. You can actually sew with two colors at the same time. It comes with the foot pedal as well as two extra bobbins, two extra needles, a tape measure and a seam ripper. It also includes the foot pedal.
This is a free arm machine that allows you to remove the extension table and then you can sew circular items such as cuffs and sleeves.
This machine was made in Taiwan. It also has a hinge light compartment so you can oil the machine and change the lightbulb without having to use any tools. This is a basic heavy duty machine that is suitable for both the beginner and seasoned sewist.
