This is a great vintage sewing machine from Kenmore. It was actually made by Janome. It is model number 148.15600. This is a mostly metal machine and is a real workhorse. it has a stitch with dial and a stitch length dial as well as a reverse button and several pattern stitches on the top. This machine is very easy to operate and easy to thread. It has a rotary bobbin system and uses a size 15 standard bobbin. The machine has a built-in bobbin winder, which is metal, not plastic like so many of the machines today. It also has dual thread spools for two needle sewing using a twin needle. You can actually sell with two colors at the same time. It comes with the foot pedal as well as two extra bobbins, two extra needles, a tape measure and a seam ripper. It also includes the foot pedal.
The manual is available in PDF format and I can email it to the buyer upon request. The machine has been tested cleaned and oiled and is in good working condition. This is a free arm machine that allows you to remove the extension table and then you can so circular items such as cuffs and sleeves.
This machine was made in Japan. It has a very nice feature where the extension table opens up so you can access and change the bobbin without having to remove the extension table. It also has a hinge light compartment so you can oil the machine and change the lightbulb without having to use any tools. This machine also has several stretch stitch settings to allow you to sew knits.
