Our founder, Yvonne Modupe Telford, was born in Kano, Nigeria, a place where clothing was more than just fabric. It was a statement. After the loss of her mother at a young age, she found herself constantly trying to blend in, to fade into the background. This feeling only intensified when she moved to England (where the brand is based) in 1996. But motherhood shifted everything. What began as a blog soon sparked something more. With £50 and a handful of tote bags, Yvonne started building what would become Kemi Telford: a bold, considered brand that gives women permission to take up space again. At Kemi Telford, we don't follow trends or fashion calendars. Instead, we design bold, expressive clothing in limited runs, each piece crafted with our own rhythm. Our focus is on creating unique, intentional designs that stand out from the crowd.
