This dress is based from a vintage dress found in Rye, hence the name. It's a simple shape with clever styling, made in our favourite linen from our friendly maker in Ireland. The dress is cut on a slight bias on the top, for comfort of fit and creating a flattering illusion of the checks 'narrowing' into the waist. The waist has a soft elastic channelled at the back for ease of fit and movement. Shortish sleeves cut on the bias reaching the elbow. On the skirt section, the A line shape gently flows down without hugging the hips, with a soft inverted pleat at the front. Deep pockets hidden in the side seams. Fabric and Aftercare: Luxury weighty Irish linen. Unlined. Machine wash at 30 degrees. Hang dry or cool tumble. Medium iron if desired. We encourage minimal washing, saving water and the environment. Linen is a fabric that is naturally sustainable, using European flax that is grown with rainwater alone, with no need for fertilisers and even leaves the ground replenished with nutrients for the next planting.
