It has a nice sun protection, compared with other common hats. Heavier and more dense than I anticipated as it is cotton and Canvas and not paper or straw. It will fit, even if you have a larger head. The brim is a nice snug fit. The rim does have a WIRE insert, not plastic, which makes a huge difference to the good. You can form the brim edge perfectly round in about 2 minutes of shaping.
