John Varvatos Limited Edition (47/60) Frost Blue Wool and Linen blend Overcoat

Made in Italy. Size 54R. Limited Edition 47/60. Classic cut overcoat, w/a notched lapel, four-button closure, flap pockets & a single vent in the back. Lining is a muted silver w/a repeated fluer de lis image. Super dressy & sophisticated but frankly, also pretty rock-and-roll. Which is to say it's Varvatos through & through. Material is a textured blend of 47% wool, 41% linen & 12% nylon, in a frost blue, or a muted cool-toned blue, flecked w/white, that, in certain light, hints of gray & silver. The texture suggests a cross between a herringbone tweed & bouclé, w/ a fuzzy, nubby surface. (It's a difficult coat to describe; bear with me, I'm doing the best I can, LOL). Although very high end in construction & materials & despite being well cared for, the coat is, in fact, somewhere around 20 years old & I'm not gonna lie & pretend it's all pristine & shiny & new. It's faded a bit & you can tell it's been worn by a human & not a mannequin... I mean that though in that pleasing sort of way like bronze or copper developing a patina over time. Again--please forgive my inability to be descriptively concise; or any seeming contradictions in my description. I promise -- it really does take on different looks in different light(s). I bought it in '06 at the annual big blowout day-after-Xmas sale at Bloomingdale's, Century City for a cool $4.5k, so I'm gonna guess original retail had to be at least $7k, if not more. It's a bad ass coat. Here's hoping it finds a bad ass new home.
