John Romain Vintage Tweed/Leather Satchel Bag

A rare beauty. I remember when my mother bought it. I was just a child. I was with her shopping that day and she was so excited and proud to be able to afford this luxury. My grandmother and my mother were grand dames for sure. They loved beautiful things and passed that love on to me. This was keep in the finest manner by momma. I have done the same with it since it’s been with me. I’ve never carried it. She carried it lovingly. It is described as tweed or woven and the finest leather. You can see the equestrian influence. This is late 1960s/early 1970s era. It was called the Louis Vuitton of its day by some circles. 12” across, 5” deep, 8” tall. Signature stamp inside. Pocket inside with snap closure. Bag itself closes with the traditional twist lock.Lovely patina. Minimal markings on leather as you can see. Double handle with 8” drop
