About Me I’m Johanna, a self-taught silversmith creating meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces by hand. My journey into silversmithing wasn’t born from a hobby—it was born from survival. I live with mental illness and am in long-term recovery from addiction. Years ago, when I stepped away from drugs, I had to find something to replace the chaos—something that could channel my restlessness into purpose. Working with fire and metal gave me that outlet. Silversmithing became a way to quiet my mind, to turn pain into beauty, and to remind myself every day that transformation is possible. Each piece I make carries a bit of that journey—crafted slowly, deliberately, and with deep care. I use recycled and reclaimed materials whenever I can, including stones rescued from broken antique jewelry. I believe there’s something powerful in giving forgotten things new life. This isn’t fast fashion. It’s slow, intentional work made in a smoke and pet-free home studio. And it’s saved my life more times than I can count.
