Good preowned antique/vintage condition an elegant ivory porcelain platter created by Jean Pouyat for Limoges and is adorned with stunning gold art deco style vines and flowers. 18” x 12.5” oval. No cracks or chips on top. Gold is lightly worn on raised areas. An omega symbol is present on one side. The base of those pieces has had a 1.5” chunk out but has been repaired as shown. It sits straight as a result.
This platter appears to have been patented on January 23, 1888 though it is unclear if this is the date the platter was made. Since Jean Pouyat died in 1849, it is likely his sons, who continued the porcelain business, created this platter.
