Jean Paul Gaultier F/W 1992 Wool Madonna Bondage Harness Dress in Gray/Brown

Size: IT 46 (Measured Flat: Roughly 16” Underbust, 14” Waist, 55” length from top of harness at shoulder to base of skirt) Fabric has stretch! Can easily be taken in by a tailor if too big as well. Condition: Amazing condition given its age! The only notable thing is that the black vinyl backing on the suede has crumbled (this is inevitable for aging vinyl and the remedy is to just remove it). I have already done most of the work (pictured), but it needs some more cleanup with a light brush to get the remaining bits off (which flake off in tiny specks currently). Thankfully this does not affect the look or structural integrity of the dress when worn and seemed to primarily serve as an inner cosmetic feature. Features: Stretch wool fabric, lace-up bottom, suede harness, belt buckles and buttons for adjusting it. Side zip, back pocket! The Jean Paul Gaultier Fall/Winter 1992 runway had so many references to traditional German attire, and this piece is one of them! Resembling something between the attire of an office worker, dominatrix, and milkmaid, this dress is a beautiful spin on tradition. You can wear it with a top underneath like the runway model who wore this same colorway, or without anything at all (like the other runway model and Madonna who wore black variants) if you’re feeling daring! The gray stretch wool has pinstripes and a very subtle pink glow to it. It’s hard to capture the colors on camera for some reason.
