bashley12 Hey! Sorry for the delay! Pit to pit measures approximately 17 inches. It opens in the back as well so I feel like it could be flowy if you are a size large or more fitted if you are an XL. I tried to take pictures to show how the back opens. A James Perse size 4 is an XL. The material is 51% cotton 49% modal. Hope this helps! :)
