Rare, Collectible, Couture, Boldly designed, sculpted shiny navy blue straw hat. Made in the 80’s. Designed by the late expert milliner, Jack McConnell. Inner brim lined with lace. No signs of wear. Passed to me from my late great Aunt who was a proud hat club member. 😊 In the era, high society women (as well as Hollywood elite) wanted unique hats. Jack McConnell established himself as a top milliner in New York City who created one-of-a-kind originals. These original creations were marked with a red feather tucked under the McConnell label. See last photo. His hats have been included in countless museum exhibitions. Worn by celebrities, Jack McConnell hats were collected by style icons such as Joan Crawford and Lana Turner.
