JS Pottery was founded by Jack Sexton in the 1970's after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. Originally located in Myrtle Beach, SC, Jack decided to return to his hometown, Smyre, in Gaston County, NC where he opened his studio. JS Pottery then moved to Spencer Mountain, NC.
Grace Carr began her apprenticeship with JS Pottery at Spencer Mountain in 1987.
During the years spent in Lowell, NC, JS Pottery became one of the beginning attractions for Gaston County Department of Tourism's "Magnolia Tour". In 1996 JS Pottery was presented "The Magnolia Blossom Award" for being a business that worked diligently to promote Gaston County.
This lovely pitcher signed by Grace has never been used. It has sat on a shelf in my home since I purchased it in the 90s.
Its approximate measurements are:
4" across base
7.25" tall
5" side to side across top
5.5" across top from spout to rear (not including handle)
It is in perfect condition from a smoke free, climate controlled home.
