For years, Josef Flek has been working in his Czech studio to recreate the hand-blown glassware used by Knights and Kings in medieval times. Early glass blowers were often very daring and creative, using glass threading and raised dotting on their pieces. This piece from Josef Flek looks like a vase but is actually a reproduction of a drinking glass used in the Middle Ages. Flek has not only recreated the shape of the glass, he also matched the light green tint of medieval glass and the tiny little bubbles you see in glass hundreds of years old. This glass measures approximately 8.5 inches tall by 2.75 inches wide at the base which is signed by Josef Flek. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
