John Carpenter was born in 1948 in upstate New York but moved to Kentucky when he was 5. He began directing 8mm films as a child in Bowling Green and after high school went to USC Film School. While still a student, he collaborated on a short subject with other students that won an Academy Award in 1970.
Carpenter expanded one of his student films to feature length and it was released in 1974 as “Dark Star”. Its minor success led to “Assault On Precinct 13” which led to his breakout film “Halloween”. Many films followed that became classics of their genre, “The Fog”, “Escape From New York”, “The Thing”, “Big Trouble in Little China”, “Prince of Darkness”, etc.
This 8x10 inch photo has been signed by Carpenter in silver paint pen. It has been authenticated by PSA and has the holographic oval sticker and mini certificate with matching serial numbers from PSA. The photo is in excellent condition.
