Beautiful Vintage JMH Ireland 925 Sterling Silver and Turquoise Cabochon Heart Necklace. The necklace measures 20”long and the center is 2" wide. It also has a loop hole to be able to use at 18” if preferred. This is a traditional Irish sterling silver Claddagh necklace. Beautiful condition, with original box. Claddagh is the most traditional design in Ireland, said to have spread from the port city of Galway in the west of Ireland. Its motto is “Let Love and Friendship Reign," and it is said to have been exchanged as a sign of friendship. In the center is a heart and crown motif, and a "hand" motif shaped to protect the heart. The heart symbolizes love, the hands symbolize friendship, and the crown symbolizes loyalty.
