JAPANESE CAST IRON TETSUBIN TEAPOT

A Japanese red/black cast iron teapot known as a Tetsubin. It has a raised design of bamboo and cherry blossoms. This is a more modern teapot in that its interior is lined in enamel and has a removable stainless steel infuser. These traditional Japanese teapots are known to heat evenly and retain heat. This has been used and has some seasoned tea residue at the bottom with a fabulous aroma. The makers mark in found in the Japanese characters under the spout. The handle swivels and it has a wonderful easy pour spout. It weighs 2 lbs. 10 ounces and holds approx 20 ounces. It measures approx 5.25" in diameter, 4.5" in height to the top of the lid and 6.5" in height to the top of the handle. A wonderful teapot for use and a beautiful display piece.
