Asylum Records. The album was released after the suicide

The album made it into the Top-5 on the US Billboard 200.
The lead single 'Here Come Those Tears Again' reached #23
and the title track, 'The Pretender', peaked at #58.
'The Pretender' was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1978

The album was ultimately certified Triple Platinum in the US.
