Original 1887 J&P Coats “Best Six Cord Thread” trade card featuring charming anthropomorphic polar bears dancing and celebrating in a snowy scene. Illustrated by Donaldson Brothers, New York, this delightful Victorian-era advertising card promotes J&P Coats’ famous sewing thread in “White, Black and Colors for Hand & Machine.”
Measures approximately 3" x 5" (see photos for details). The artwork captures the whimsy of 19th-century advertising — with beautifully printed lithography and crisp period detail. A wonderful example of antique sewing ephemera and polar bear-themed Victorian art.
Condition: See photos. Light wear and mild discoloration consistent with age.
Publisher: Donaldson Brothers, NY
Copyright Date: 1887
