Part of a series of handcrafted plates, this piece is decorated by hand with a stunning Sardinian symbol of peace, the "pavoncella", peacock. The stylized bird, originally adorning ancient Sardinian chests, is depicted in a fresh style using the graffito method, whereby the terracotta is scratched to incorporate the vividly hued enamels for a unique object of functional decor.
