@deecrapson there is a leather strip which is firm around the sides of leather is soft. There is a pic of the bottom if you haven’t seen it.

@dolly1370 it has neither, the material does overlap a bit and the round gold hoop is heavy. When it was on its side I never lost contents out of purse.
