Introducing... The Beatles is the first studio album released by the English rock band in the United States. Originally scheduled for a July 1963 release, the LP came out on January 10, 1964 on Vee-Jay Records, ten days before Capitol's Meet the Beatles! The latter album, however, entered the U.S. album chart one week before the former. Consequently, when Meet The Beatles! peaked at No. 1 for eleven consecutive weeks, Introducing...The Beatles stalled at No. 2 where it remained for nine consecutive weeks. It was the subject of much legal wrangling, but ultimately, Vee-Jay was permitted to sell the album until late 1964, by which time it had sold more than 1.3 million copies.
This is a misprint version with the track listing on the back of the dust cover not accurately matching those on the disc lables. 'Ask Me Why' can be heard on side 1, track 6 instead of 'Love Me Do.'
A counterfeit edition made @ 1970, reportedly using the original #VJLP1062 pressing plates stolen by a former Vee Jay Records employee in 1964. The band title appears below the spindle hole. Black colorband lable with silver brackets logo. George's shadow, however, is visible on the front cover.
A collector's item (in its own right), the album is very hard to find in this condition. Serious Inquires only.
