Vintage Indiana Metal Craft belt buckle designed after the classic 1913 Buffalo Nickel. Features the obverse (front) profile of a Native American chief with the word “LIBERTY” and the date 1913 in raised detail.
Back of the buckle includes a fascinating historical inscription:
“The obverse of the Buffalo nickel, designed by James E. Fraser, was a composite American Indian profile from models Chief John Big Tree (Seneca), Chief Two Moons (Cheyenne), and Chief Iron Trail (Sioux). The coin was minted from 1913–1938.”
