If you like an item do you expect an offer?

I have read that if someone “likes” an item in my closet they expect me to make an offer, I have also read that it just means they “like” it so they have a record if they want to purchase later. This leaves me unsure of what to do so, if you’re asking for an offer please make an offer. I don’t price my closet to make up for lowering prices so offers 40-50% below my original list price won’t be accepted, sorry but I would lose money like that but super happy to consider other offers.
