I’ve bought a number of Kanken. I’m constantly seeing new postings and people claim that they are selling original Kankens & swear by it, charging almost retail price (they’re entitled to do so) but many sell replicates and don’t tell buyers like myself that they’re not authentic. Anyways, here’s another way to spot fakes, if you see the side pockets. Original ones have stitching about an inch and fake ones have smaller ones, they look similar but trust me when I say that they’re not.

blueturtles There are two kankens. The one made in Vietnam, and the one made in China. The fake Kankens copy the one made in China. The difference is that the one made in Vietnam has a Swedish flag and the stitching in the inside is covered with a ribbed ribbon. The one in China doesn’t have the Swedish flag, and the stitching inside is not covered with a ribbed ribbon, and is exposed but stitched up three rows.

irmaglc @bri0721 definitely, the material is like cloth. It’s not water resistant. Amongst other key features Kankens have.

irmaglc @bri0721 I don’t see anything wrong with selling replicas I just hoped they would have told me it wasn’t authentic and maybe I wouldn’t have paid so much. I think it should be up to the buyer to determine if they want a replica, instead of being cheated into getting one. Hope it turns out okay for you !

elm32 @irmaglc if you go in to your purchased items you can report the person for selling counterfeit items. You can also click on problem with order and send an email that way with photographs detailing why the bag is fake. Hope that helps.

irmaglc @pinksquirrel You could do one of two things the first being actually reporting it to Poshmark as a counterfeit which then they will open an investigation if they determine that it is in fact not authentic they will reimburse your money. Your second Is I believe you can request to send it back to the original seller. Lastly you could just not accept the package and claim it as a loss which then you would also get your money refunded I believe in five business days.
