IMPRESSIVE 1940s BLACK STRAW WITH POINTY CROWN - VELOUR & PEARL TRIM + FEATHER

What a beautiful black straw hat from the 1940s'! The round crown ends in a point at the top, and the asymmetrical brim is folded up at one end, and down at the other side.There is a velour band surrounding the nat in a pale beige color. On both sides there are beautiful trim pieces made of the same velour and embellished with pearls. To finish the look, there is a black ostrich feasther. The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. Label: LAZARUS MODEL This is an authentic piece of fashion history!
